Wordsmiths have used language for millennia to influence culture, share ideas, and challenge the status quo. When practiced, they captivate and spellbind audiences, but when they are truthful they can inspire and empower generations.
Filmmaker, Activist, and Poet Richard Williams, (better known by his stage name Prince Ea) started with dreams of being a Hip-hop artist. Passionate and articulate, he was exceptional as a rapper but he found himself drained and disillusioned in a quest for personal glory. Williams wrote of his artistic turning point, “This egoist pursuit caused a lot of suffering…that suffering & unhappiness was so much that I stopped making music and decided I simply wanted to be happy.”
